Work with Dr Cathy Betoin - The I Matter Lady
Dr Cathy Betoin, Founder and Director of the I Matter Project is a practising clinical psychologist, an experienced teacher and a parent. She is sometimes referred to by the children of clients as 'The I Matter Lady' and so a name was born.
Cathy spends her time divided between working with local partners to develop the availability of I Matter Training, and building the resource base to support better understanding of the ideas.
Cathy has a small caseload of local families funded through a variety of means including: adoption support, education health care, local pupil premium funds and private funding. Families and schools work with her to explore their own challenges using the perspectives and structures offered by the I Matter Framework.
The process involves a Getting to Know You Phase, a phase of working through the online course and learning the I Matter Framework and then a phase of learning to put the principles into practice. The initial work is usually focussed on work with the adults however then young people can also be offered support using the same core principles.
