registration closes 25th Sept - first study support sessions on 3rd October
Every child is complex, but some are more complex than others.
In the supported introduction to the I Matter Framework you will be covering many familiar theoretical ideas presented in an innovative fashion. The intention is to bring well established psychological ideas that are needed by parents and professionals of children with more complex needs, into a really useful framework called the Adult-Child Well-Being 'I Matter' Framework.
You will discover how a deeper understanding of stress states, child development, brain development and the adult role can help you understand better what is happening in your home or work setting. The course builds on the well-established evidence around cognitive behavioural approaches and social learning theory integrating these ideas with other important research on relationships and child development
You will also learn about the direction of travel and the steps you can take if you want to make a difference.
The Foundation Stage is comprised of three courses
First Steps Course - Some background and first idea including the informal or formal I Matter Questionnaire
Foundation A Getting Started Workshop (recommended)
Foundation A (Part 1 and Part 2) - From Confusion to Clarity - Introduction to the I Matter Framework - a Theory Course
Foundation B - Watching Affectionately - An intensive coaching - Theory to Practice
The A course introduces important psychological theory taught in a very practical way through videos and questions in a private online platform. This learning can be supplemented by webinar and face to face discussions and by an online forum.
The B course is a more interactive experience, in which you will have support in putting Theory into Practice in the context of everyday professional or home life. Those who have a personal interest will also be able to explore the professional as parent implications.
